Phoenix Wharf

from £75.00

Original Painting : Sold

Phoenix Wharf is situated on the North bank of the Thames in Wapping. The area may no longer be the hustle and bustle of days gone by, but the cobble stoned narrow street always in shadow from the imposing warehouses along its length oozes history. It’s from a past I wish I could have experienced, watching as barrels and sacks are unloaded and winched in through second, third and fourth storey opened doors. Seagulls screeching in unison with ships hooters and yelling porters. Phoenix Wharf, the building faded over the years, smells of spice close too, and sometimes beer, but I’m sure that’s from the Captain Kidd Pub next door.
